About CEA:
The CIVIL ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION better known as the CEA is the Students’ Association of the Civil Department of the Sardar Patel College of Engineering. The Civil Engineering Association came into being almost 16 years ago and has been very active in the recent years.
The activities of the CEA include a Grand Quiz for the First Year Students in the first half of the academic year. The CEA also publishes its periodic newsletter ‘The Civil Express’ which includes articles by the students and the teaching staff as well as by noted names from the industries. The CEA organises Monthly Seminars for the civil engineering students by eminent speakers from various reputed companies / institutes.
The major event conducted by the CEA is its Annual National Level Technical Symposium ‘NIRMITI’. Nirmiti is conducted for 2 days in the month of March. These two days witness a whole wide spectrum of activities in the civil department ranging from inauguration lectures by distinguished personalities in the civil circles followed by unique events cum competitions organised by the students of our department to showcase the practical skills of civil students from all over India. The participants are judged by a team of experienced and eminent judges from the industrial arena and our enviable department faculty
Activities:
The Civil Engineering Association of Sardar Patel College of Engineering conducts the following activities throughout the year.
1. Bi-monthly newsletter ‘The Civil Express’
The main aim of the newsletter is to keep the students abreast of the new developments happening in the world of construction, real estate and such civil related sectors by including articles by professionals from the field as well as by the much reputed faculty of our own department. It also aims to cover the events happening in the department as well as to serve as a mouthpiece of the Civil Engineering Association. Another added motive is to provide a platform for the students to showcase their writing, presentation and compiling skills.
2. Monthly Seminar – This includes seminars by noted professionals from the civil engineering field as well as seminars that guide the students about future career prospects, about education in foreign universities and so on and so forth.
3. CEA conducts the 2 day National Level Technical Symposium called ‘Nirmiti’ for the past 7 years. Nirmiti is one of the most renowned event among civil engineering colleges all over India.
